Dr. Payman Pirnazar, Pediatric Dentist

Q:
My 2 year old daughter has dark brown spots on her front teeth. I don't think that a 2 year old can have cavities. What do you think they are?
A: Such spots may be cavities or just a stain. Such spots are usually seen in children with Early Childhood Tooth Decay (ECTD) or Baby Bottle Caries. ECTD is usually due to prolonged use of milk and/or juice through a milk bottle, particularly if the baby usually fell asleep with the bottle. I recommend that your child be taking to a pediatric dentist for an examination.
